Hi there! I’ll be honest and upfront. I’ve stared at the blank page in front of me for longer than I care to admit trying to figure out where to begin. For me, writing comes naturally, but writing about myself? Well, that’s an entirely different story. So I’ll start where most stories do- the beginning. My name is Andrea, and I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I’m 43 years old and have had the profound privilege of raising two children on my own. I’ve been writing since I knew how and have always possessed a knack for story-telling. It’s in my blood, as they say. Until recently, writing has been this little idea floating around in the back of my mind. That one bucket list item that you refer to as “someday” or “one of these days I’m gonna.” Around 36, I decided that I didn’t want that dream to bounce around my brain any longer. I wanted it to find a home for good. So I went back to college and earned a degree in English/Creative Writing. Although it took a while to see this dream come to fruition, I finally started to put the wheels in motion. For the last year, I’ve been writing articles, blog posts, and web content for local companies to get a feel of what the life of a freelance writer can look like- and I must say, I’m finally home.
